WeSingHope Shared Music and Love with Homeless Women and Children in Karis Home!

WeSingHope visited the Karis Home of Baltimore Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter on the 27th and delivered the proceeds of "the Hope of Christmas" Chamber Music Concert held in Goucher College on December 19th, 2021.

On this day, WeSingHope also prepared Christmas gift bags containing winter hats, neck warmers, sleeping socks, masks, hand sanitizers, and snacks for homeless women, toys for children, diapers for babies.

Pianist Alice Hyewon Ryu and Christine Yoon held a mini-concert on the theme of Hope for Christmas there, bringing joy, peace, and hope for homeless women. Starting with Bach's cantata, 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring,' they performed Christmas carols such as 'Silent Night' and 'Joy to the World' and the comforting hymn'It is well with my soul' with Piano Four-Hands.

The director of Karis Home, Janna Buettner, who has been serving homeless women and children with love for 30 years in Baltimore, sent a thankful heart to all the audiences members who purchased the tickets for the Hope of Christmas Concert and helped homeless women and children.

Dear the audience of WeSingHope Concert,
It was indeed a meaningful and impressive time for us that we musicians can do little things in supporting our community using our musical talents! I believe that we did not merely share the music and donations with Karis Home but we shared the story of our life together with them. I heard the story of the mom and daughter who became homeless under the difficulty of the covid pandemic...They were lovely and beautiful human beings. I could feel Mrs.Buettner's sincere love for homeless women as I hear her deep sigh and care about one homeless woman who keeps rejecting to come into Karis Home, staying in her car in this freezing weather... It was indeed a precious time that we shared many valuable things with them.
Thank you, all the audience members, you made this happen. We safely delivered the entire tickets sales that you purchased for homeless people. We visited there with a sincere hope that we could comfort them by sharing beautiful music and our hearts.
Thank you again for joining our Chamber Music Concert "the Hope of Christmas" to support homeless people in Karis Home and we hope to see you soon with beautiful and comforting music programs!
With warm regards, Alice Hyewon Ryu
